A Valentine’s Day Felt Set which promotes the development of early numeracy skills.

It can be used either as a group or independently.

The purpose of this set is to match up the hearts with numbers with the correct heart containing same quantity of little hearts. A further challenge could be provided by matching up the correct number word with the numeral or the heart containing the matching number of hearts. 

This felt set can be used to develop:

Counting

How many little hearts on each big heart?

Counting to five,

How many large hearts?

Matching

Numerals, number word, and the quantity of little hearts

Ordering

Put the hearts in sequence

Numeral and number word recognition
